Caetano e Chico - Juntos e ao Vivo (Original Pressing)
Caetano e Chico – Juntos e Ao Vivo is a live album recorded in 1972 by Brazilian music icons Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque. It captures a concert at Teatro Castro Alves in Salvador, Bahia, soon after Caetano’s return from exile under Brazil’s military dictatorship, making the performance historically significant within MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).
The LP features 11 tracks performed live, including classics like Bom Conselho, Partido Alto, Tropicália, Cotidiano and Os Argonautas. Songs alternate between the two artists’ repertoires and include duets — highlighting both artists’ strengths in lyrical sophistication and melodic richness.
Because of political censorship at the time, some vocal passages were obscured with added applause on the released record to mask lyrics that censors had targeted.
