Novos Baianos - Novos Baianos F.C

Anyone who's listened to Acabou Chorare can surely guess what's coming next. By 1973, the band Novos Baianos had made communal living into a form of artistic philosophy, and their album - Novos Baianos F.C - was made in their own football club house, where the distinctions between music, football and ordinary life were blurred (it seems like this was the entire idea behind this). 'Sorrir e Cantar Como Bahia', 'O Samba da Minha Terra', 'Quando Voce Chegar' all emerged from that rarefied environment, further cementing the band's place at the very heart of Brazil's countercultural movement.
