Tribalistas - Tribalistas
Tribalistas - Tribalistas
Released in November 2002, Tribalistas is the wildly successful, self-titled debut album by the Brazilian supergroup of the same name. Created by acclaimed artists Marisa Monte, Arnaldo Antunes, and Carlinhos Brown, the record is a modern classic of Brazilian Popular Music (MPB)
Each member was already a major figure in Brazilian music prior to joining forces:Marisa Monte: A multi-award-winning singer and songwriter who defined Brazilian pop in the 1990s.Arnaldo Antunes: A poet and rock musician, formerly of the superstar 80s band Titãs.Carlinhos Brown: A master percussionist and founder of the Afro-Brazilian collective Timbalada
Despite being a one-off project that never had a traditional concert tour at the time of release, the album sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.
