TRIO TERNURA - A Gira

Not not recently reissued by fellow label Melodies International, Vampi Soul continues the 7" reissues fervour for A Gira, a rare 1973 cut from Rio de Janeiro's Trio Ternura: a sibling trio whose arrangements and songwriting were strengthened by filial relations. First out on Polydor, A Gira threads earthy spiritualism through Brazilian funk, layering chants and interlocking percussion into an altered-state groove, one which has quietly haunted collectors for decades. Originals fetch eye-watering sums; this version, pressed with care, offers a long-overdue chance to own a key sliver of early-70s Afro-Brazilian psychedelia.
